Out of many education choices, when it comes to child care, it is very important for parents to consider one that would love the child as they do and educate the child to realize their full potential and live a happy successful life.
In raising your precious child, the first six years really matters. Teachers’ and parents’ observation and scientific research have shown that Montessori school graduates have advantages not only on academic achievement but also on social skills and emotional development.
The core of the Montessori Method is that the child, teacher, and the environment form a child-centered learning triangle.
Child is centered and motivated: The child is at the "sensitive” stage building his brain infrastructure, he has an "absorbent mind” with the power to teach himself. He actively learns from what is present in the environment through interactive play. The child seeks help from their teacher when necessary. The freedom of choosing activities boost children’s self-esteem, promote their love of discovery and life-long learning. They learn to make their own decisions early in life and they become more independent as they grow up.
Teacher guides and respects the child: The teacher respects child’s uniqueness and developmental "sensitivity”. The role of a teacher is to prepare the environment according to the child’s capabilities and encourage the child’s independent choice of "work” within limits. She guides the child when appropriate, and the child seeks help when needed. The step back of the teacher and self paced learning teach children discipline and time management.
Environment is diversely and appropriately prepared to meet child’s needs: The environment is orderly, peaceful and inviting, offering ample opportunities to stimulate a child’s curiosity and to attract him to concentrate on his work through sensorial materials.
Multiage groupings are a hallmark of a Montessori classroom. This resembles the real world where people work both alone and in groups and socialize with others of all ages and dispositions.
In such a learning relationship, a child is motivated to learn and satisfy his inner interests. He learns to work independently and collaboratively. The older children gain self esteem and reinforce their learning by teaching the younger ones what they have already mastered. The younger children gain problem solving skills through learning from the older ones.
